Sahara Sunset Camel Trek & Luxury Desert Camp Escape

The retreat kicks off in Merzouga, the gateway to the Erg Chebbi dunes, where you meet your guide and mount up for the classic sunset camel trek. The ride takes you out into the desert at the perfect time of day, when the light turns the sand a deep amber. Arriving at camp, you’re greeted with mint tea before a traditional dinner and live Berber music around the fire. The camp itself is a far cry from roughing it — think proper beds, private bathrooms, and hot water, all set in decorated Berber-style tents.
