Home › Retreats › Seaside Yoga and Pilates Week on Evia Island, Greece
Greece · 8 days · From EUR 1057
The retreat runs for eight days at Porto Buffalo, a quiet bay on the island of Evia. The setting is the main event: calm water, a pebbly beach, and not much else around, which is exactly the point. Days are structured around two yoga sessions, typically one in the morning and one in the late afternoon or early evening, timed to avoid the heat. Optional Pilates classes are offered alongside the yoga for anyone who wants to work on core strength and stability.
Because the group is limited to nine, the teacher can give hands-on adjustments and tailor sequences to the people in the room. If you're new to yoga, you'll get clear instruction on the basics; if you've been practising for years, you'll be given options to go deeper. The classes take place outdoors with the sea in view, weather permitting.
Accommodation is right on the property, in a range of studios, apartments and a cottage, all with sea views. You're steps from the water, so swimming before breakfast or after class is easy. The area around Mpoufalo is rural and green, with walking trails and small beaches to explore on foot.
Afternoons are left free. Some guests swim or use the paddleboards, others nap, read, or head out for a walk. Sunset walks along the coastline are a common way to end the day. There's no enforced programme, so you can do as much or as little as you like.
Evenings are quiet. Dinners are often taken together, but there's no obligation. The overall feel is more like staying at a friend's place by the sea than a formal retreat centre.
