Self-Guided Wellness Escape in the Swedish Forest

The Forest Reset takes place at Näsets Marcusgård, a family-run property in Furudal, Dalarna, surrounded by woodland and lakes. Hosts Mireille and Willem moved here from the Netherlands in 2014, inspired by the tranquility and the story of Marcus Eriksson, who founded the farm in 1910. They've shaped the place into a destination for slow, restorative stays.

Your day might start with a breakfast basket delivered to your cabin – fresh bread, seasonal flavors, local ingredients. Afternoons are yours: walk the forest trails, use the seasonal gear (mountain bikes, SUP, canoe, skis or snowshoes depending on the season), swim in a quiet lake, or just rest. Evenings bring a prepared meal – the Forest Evenings concept includes a signature Feast of the Forest – followed by private time in the wilderness sauna.

The retreat is self-guided. There are no workshops, no fixed program, no expectations to participate. The Signature Experiences of the Forest are gentle invitations to engage with the landscape using all your senses, not activities to complete. This is what makes it different: space rather than structure.

Accommodation is in one of two cabins – Supermåne, suspended among the trees, or Oddis Öga, a cozy woodland cabin with large windows framing the seasons. Both have private bathrooms and terraces, and are priced per cabin for up to two guests.
