Semi-Private Muay Thai Training Camp in Chiang Mai, Thailand

Semi-Private Muay Thai Training Camp in Chiang Mai, Thailand

Chiang Mai · 7 days

The Camp Muaythai Resort & Academy sits in Chiang Mai, northern Thailand, and is built from the ground up as a training facility. Four full-size rings, 22 Fairtex heavy bags and 12,000 square feet of training floor is a lot of space for a camp that caps its core coaching ratio at two students per trainer. You're not queuing for a bag or waiting your turn in a 30-person class. Sessions run up to four times a day in the Stay & Train programme, and every one of them has a trainer watching and correcting.

Training is structured, not improvised. Mornings usually start early with a run and skipping before pad work and bag rounds, then technique drills and clinch work. Afternoon and evening sessions mix in more pad work, sparring for those ready for it, and conditioning. Beginners are welcome and coaches scale the intensity and drill the fundamentals so you can start safely. If you've trained before, the semi-private format means you spend your sessions on the things you actually need to fix rather than repeating basics you already know.

The Stay & Train package comes in two versions. Lite gives you two sessions a day; Full gives you four. Accommodation is on-site, so you roll out of your room and into the gym. Meals are not included — the camp is upfront about that — but there's an on-site café, Lean & Green, selling light healthy food, and Chiang Mai has no shortage of cheap places to eat within a short ride.

There's also a Detox & Weight Loss programme that pairs training with recovery and juice-based detox nutrition. That one is different: during the fasting phase you get daily detox juices, and during the refeed phase you get recovery meals. If you're booking standard Stay & Train, expect to sort out your own food.

For remote workers, the coworking space is a genuinely useful addition. You can train in the morning, work through the middle of the day and come back for the afternoon session without leaving the property. For people planning to stay months rather than weeks, the camp supports ED and DTV visa routes and prepares the school-side documents you need for the application, with process guidance after payment.
