Home › Retreats › Silent Yoga & Nature Reset in Zoopiyi Village, Cyprus
Cyprus · 6 days · From USD 700
The retreat centre sits in Zoopiyi, a small village in the Limassol district of Cyprus, up in the hills away from the coast road. It's a converted house rather than a purpose-built resort — cosy, with the common areas arranged so a small group can eat and practise together without feeling crammed. The surroundings are vineyards, almond trees and quiet lanes, and there's a genuine sense of being away from things: no traffic noise, no strip of bars down the road.
Peter leads the yoga. Guests who've stayed describe him teaching self-awareness techniques alongside the physical practice — the sessions are unhurried and work for people who aren't advanced. Kristin handles the hosting side and the kitchen, and Anna does the cooking, which guests consistently single out. Meals are home-cooked, largely from local and garden produce.
The signature programme is the silent yoga retreat, several days where speech is kept to a minimum outside of the teaching sessions. That's the point of it — the quiet makes the practice land differently, and the sauna and the walking trails fill the rest of the day. It's not a boot camp and it's not a spa hotel; it's a quiet house in a village with a good teacher and good food.
Because the groups are small, guests end up knowing each other by the end of the week, and the atmosphere is more house-share than hotel. The centre is also used for hire by other yoga teachers and for events, so the setup is flexible — mats, props and a practice space are all there. If you want a retreat in Cyprus without the resort feel, this is the alternative.
A note on location: Zoopiyi is inland and elevated, so it's cooler than Limassol in summer and you'll want a car or a transfer if you plan to get to the coast. Most people come for the week and stay put.
