The house is built over seven levels, each one with a porch that faces the water, so most rooms get a sea view and a look at the mango trees below. Inside, the decor leans toward crystals and curiosities, with a mosaic rose compass set into the entry floor. The vibe is more borrowed beach house than polished resort—you live in the space, make your own meals in the kitchens, and settle into the rhythm of the place.

The headline activity is stargazing. An astronomer is available on the property, and the telescopes are set up for looking at the planets, constellations, and the band of the Milky Way, which is visible from this stretch of coast on clear nights. It's not a lecture hall—you're on a terrace with the ocean below and the sky above, and the astronomer points out what you're looking at.

During the day, the coral reef beach below the villa is a snorkeling spot, with tropical fish and sea turtles. The villa's host, Carmen, can help you arrange excursions or send you in the direction of a good hike.
