Dreamsea runs surf camps in Bali Uluwatu, Lombok, Costa Rica (Avellanas and Santa Teresa), France (Soulac-sur-Mer), Morocco (Imsouane), Nicaragua (San Juan del Sur), Portugal (Alentejo, Centro and Sintra), Spain (Cantabria, Gran Canaria and the Mediterranean coast) and Sri Lanka (Ahangama). Each one is a place to sleep, eat and surf, not just a lesson booking.
Accommodation varies by camp but the style is consistent: simple, comfortable rooms and glamping structures built from bamboo, wood and natural fibres. In Bali Uluwatu, one guest rented room 7 in the upper corner and had a panoramic ocean view from it. In France there's a dedicated glamping area. Meals come from the camp restaurant, and the food gets consistent praise in reviews — one guest at Alentejo called it "insanely good," and another described a surprising variety of large, healthy dishes at the Bali camp.
Surf lessons are the core of every package. Beginner groups work on the basics in the whitewater with instructors who watch each person individually; intermediate and advanced surfers get taken to breaks that match their level. Kadek and Made in Bali Uluwatu were singled out by a guest for being observant, caring and competent with novices surfing alongside more advanced students. Yoga is offered at most locations — the package options let you choose surf only, yoga only, or both.
What separates this from a single-destination surf school is the spread. If you want warm-water reef breaks you go to Bali, Lombok, Sri Lanka or Nicaragua. If you want Atlantic beach breaks close to Europe you go to Portugal, France or Spain. Morocco is the option in between. You can also string stays together — one guest booked a week in Nicaragua and ended up staying over three weeks.
Staff get mentioned in nearly every review. Yogi at the Bali reception was called out for making a guest feel welcome and informed at every step; Nico, the manager in Spain, was named in another. At Alentejo a guest noted the camp was brand new and the staff went out of their way despite poor weather. The one recurring criticism was that the intro and information talks ran a bit long.
For groups of 10 or more — friends, students, family, colleagues — Dreamsea puts together a tailor-made offer and a discount, and you can host your own surf and yoga retreat at any of the camps.
