The programme is built around the coaching. You get six hours of private tennis across the stay, typically as two-hour sessions each morning at 10am. Sessions are tailored to your level and goals, and past guests describe video analysis of forehands and backhands, with the pro breaking down the stroke and then drilling it with repetition. The courts at Liga Tennis Academy in Umalas are covered, which matters in a place where tropical rain can arrive without warning.
Afternoons are deliberately loose. Lunch is followed by about two and a half hours to yourself — the pool, a massage, the beach at Padang Padang or Bingin, or a wander into town. Then there is a 4pm class: yoga, fitness or Pilates, two sessions included across the five days. Evenings finish with dinner at 7pm.
Where this differs from a standard tennis holiday is the recovery side. A day pass to a recovery centre covers pool, sauna, steam room and ice bath, and two one-hour massages are part of the package. For anyone who has spent a week hitting balls and woken up stiff, that is the part that makes the rest of the coaching usable.
The host is Jennifer, who owns Courtside Collective. She played junior tennis for more than a decade from the age of four, left a corporate career to coach full time, and has lived in Bali for over five years. Guests repeatedly mention her individual attention and the fact she handles the logistics — villa, airport pickup, breakfast spots — so you are not spending your holiday researching where to eat.
The setting is Uluwatu, on Bali's southern cliffs. The hotel sits near Padang Padang, Bingin and Suluban beaches, and the Uluwatu Temple with its sunset Kecak dance performances is a short drive away. The area is known for surf breaks, clifftop resorts and a slower pace than Canggu. Airport transfers from Ngurah Rai (DPS) are included, and the drive to the Canggu area takes one to two hours depending on traffic.
