Traditional Yoga Weekend in Provence: Ananda, Joy and Inner Stillness

France · 3 days · From EUR 390 (indicative)

The retreat runs from 17:00 on Friday 4 June 2027 to around 14:00–17:00 on Sunday 6 June 2027 at Le Pavillon Vert in Vedène (Vaucluse). Friday evening is arrival, a welcome, an opening circle with an intention and a group practice, dinner at 19:30, then a 21:30 evening meditation. Saturday starts early with a 6:30 grande sadhana — a longer traditional yoga session — followed by breakfast at 8:30. At 10:30 there is a teaching and practice session on the Ananda theme, lunch at 12:30, then free time until a 17:00 deeper practice and 18:00 restorative yoga. Dinner is at 19:30 and the day ends with meditation at 21:30. Sunday has breakfast at 8:30, traditional yoga at 10:00, an integration teaching at 11:00, lunch at 12:30 and a closing circle at 13:30, with departure between 14:00 and 17:00.

The teaching is built around Ananda as the yoga tradition describes it: not happiness that depends on circumstances or getting what you want, but a steadier state that comes when the mind quiets. The weekend works through inner joy, mental peace, presence, gratitude, simplicity, openness and attention to the present moment. It is philosophy taught alongside practice, not a lecture series — each teaching session is paired with a yoga or meditation session.

Ophélie leads the retreat and teaches traditional yoga. She also offers each participant a private meeting during free time, included in the price, to talk through their practice or whatever questions have come up over the weekend. The page does not give her training background or certifications.

What separates this from a general yoga weekend is the structure of the day: two meditation slots (21:30 on Friday and Saturday), a long early sadhana on Saturday, and restorative yoga in the evening. The venue adds a pool, jacuzzi and relaxation area, and the hosts offer massages and treatments that you book ahead and pay for separately. The group is kept small on purpose, and the organisers are explicit that the weekend is meant to be gentle — you can skip any session and rest instead.

Le Pavillon Vert sits in Vedène, about 10 minutes from the motorway exit and roughly 20 minutes from Avignon TGV station, so it is reachable by train or car. A WhatsApp group is set up before the weekend so participants can arrange car-sharing.
