Seven days in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, with ten people in the room. This is a sober nervous system reset retreat led by Julia, built on somatic practice rather than inspiration.
The daily rhythm is steady: yoga and somatic movement, meditation, pranayama and yoga philosophy, with sound healing woven through. Three TRE (Tension and Trauma Releasing Exercises) sessions teach you therapeutic tremoring to discharge tension, stress and anxiety, and to work with the effects of trauma and PTSD. Three group coaching workshops with Julia sit alongside Flower Essence remedies, a Full Body Presence somatic practice, and two ceremonies to open and close your intentions. An ancestral cacao ceremony and a dedicated sound healing session complete the week.
Between sessions you head out into the landscape: two town tours of San Miguel, a hike and meditation at the El Charco del Ingenio botanical gardens, and a soak at La Gruta thermal hot springs. Five days of excursions include an optional horseback ride through the Cañada de la Virgen and an optional early-morning hot air balloon flight at 5:15 am.
You stay six nights at an estate venue with daily vegetarian breakfasts, a light vegetarian dinner, juice, teas, coffee and water. The main meal of the day is lunch during excursions, when you eat at local restaurants and pay separately, roughly $20 to $25 USD a day.
After you fly home, Julia runs an online after-care support group to keep the practices going.
