Switzerland · 3 days · From USD 479
The Digital Detox Camp takes place most weekends during the summer in the Gastlosen region of the Bernese Oberland. The chalet has no electricity, which changes the rhythm of the day. You'll cook over a fire, go for guided mountain walks, and attend workshops on digital wellbeing. The schedule is built around presence, not productivity.
Each weekend is different: some are for adults (25+) and some for young people (15-25), and they run in German, French, or English. This structure means you'll be with a group at a similar stage of life, which makes the conversations and connections feel more relevant. The retreat is facilitated by Mario Sgarrella, founder of unpluggo, who brings his experience from marketing and advertising to the topic of digital wellness.
Yoga and meditation are led by Anne Rubin, who teaches Vini-Yoga, a method that adapts traditional Hatha Yoga poses to each person's current needs. The focus is on breathing, with pranayama and short meditations included in each session. The combination of mountain air, simple living, and guided practice creates a strong sense of calm.
The food is vegetarian and vegan on request, cooked over an open fire or on a wood stove using regional and seasonal ingredients. Meals are a communal affair, shared around the table or the fire. There's free parking at the chalet, or you can arrive by public transport, with a short walk from Abländschen village.
