Weekend Yoga Retreat at Tofte Manor, Bedfordshire

Practice happens in the yurt in the grounds, with the house, gardens and pool a short walk away. Simon Low runs the yoga sessions across the weekend; the page does not list exact class times, but the schedule runs from Friday midday arrival through to Sunday lunch, with meals included throughout. Between classes you can swim in the outdoor pool, play tennis, walk the two labyrinths or sit by the fire-pit.

What separates this from a standard UK yoga weekend is the property itself. Tofte Manor is a family home, not a hotel, and the whole estate is given over to the group for the weekend. The gardens are extensive, there's a fresh-water spring on site, and the yurt gives you a dedicated practice space rather than a converted function room.

Rooms are split between the Manor House and the Stable Yard, in single, twin and double configurations, some en-suite and some with shared bathrooms. The Manor House rooms share a bathroom between just two rooms, and you can reserve a personal bathroom slot in the morning so you're not waiting on anyone else's shower. Most Manor House bedrooms also have a wash-hand basin in the room.

Numbers are limited to 16, and rooming requests are handled first come, first served. If the room type you want is sold out, you can ask to go on the waitlist by writing to yoga@simonlow.com. An information letter with arrival instructions goes out closer to the date.

Simon Low has led retreats at Tofte Manor before and returned to it in 2023 to check the property before committing to the 2024 weekends. The page does not give his training background or certifications, so check with him directly if that matters to you.
