Weight Loss and Fitness Camp in a Traditional Moroccan Villa, Marrakesh

FitFarms Morocco is the Moroccan edition of the FitFarms programme, which also runs in the UK. The structure is the same in both places: exercise, nutrition and educational workshops. What changes in Morocco is the setting — the weather allows workshops to be held at poolside, and guests spend their free time around the pool and in the villa's gardens rather than indoors.

The villa itself is a traditional Moroccan property, described as a mixture of house and palace, with Moorish architecture — arches and decorative tilework throughout. It sits in large grounds with plenty of palm trees and outdoor areas to sit away from the schedule. Bedrooms are spacious, many retaining original Moorish features, and guests choose between a double bed en suite room or a shared twin room en suite. The swimming pool is directly outside the accommodation and is used for aqua aerobics and leisure swimming.

The week includes a walk into the Marrakesh market, with time for sightseeing. Travel is straightforward: the villa is under 40 minutes from Marrakesh Menara Airport, with two collections on arrival day at 2pm and 7pm, and returns to the airport at 8am or 10am. Detailed travel instructions, including an airport meeting place, are sent in the joining instructions once you book.

Courses run for 2, 3, 4, 5 or 7 nights, and the pick-up and return times differ by course length. The 7-night course starts with a Friday 4.30pm pick-up and returns the following Friday for 9.30am. The 5-night course starts with a Sunday 10.30am pick-up and returns on Friday for 9.30am. The 4-night course starts with a Monday 10.30am pick-up and returns on Friday for 9.30am. The 3-night course starts with a Friday 4.30pm pick-up and returns on Monday for 6.00am. The 2-night course starts with a Friday 4.30pm pick-up and returns on Sunday for 6.00am.

FitFarms states it is the original FitFarms and has been featured on TV. An optional aftercare programme is delivered after the course. Prices start from £1199, and there is a £100 discount on all courses booked before 6 October at 10pm, applied to the balance payment.
