Burgundy · 5 days · From USD 900
The day structure is consistent: a morning workout, breakfast, then an inspiration session with Loretta Bates. Lunch follows, and the afternoon is deliberately left open — the pool, a bike, the village, or the optional photo shoot that is included in the price but needs registering in advance. Evenings bring the private chef's dinner and a second session, a cocktail-hour discussion or a small-group conversation.
The "Made Magnificent" seminar is the core of the programme: five in-depth sessions over the stay, built around introspective exercises, set topics and interactive sections. Loretta's own background — growing up bi-racial in a difficult home, working through insecurity and self-love — is the material she draws on, and the sessions are intimate rather than lecture-hall sized.
Movement comes in two forms. Zumba is Loretta's signature class; she has presented in more than 100 countries. Fitness Bellydance is the second, focused on core strength. Both run as private classes for this group rather than as open studio sessions.
What separates this from a standard fitness week is the building. Château des Siècles is five buildings from five different centuries around a central courtyard, behind an electronically operated gate. The 13th-century vaulted caves are now suites with fireplaces and oversized windows over the valley; the 19th-century main house has terraces on both sides; the 17th-century Commons once held stables and servants' quarters. Guests sleep in the caves, the main house, the pavilions, the Commons or the Annexe, a three-minute walk away.
Burgundy itself is on the doorstep — vineyards, the Canal du Nivernais, and the village of Mailly-le-Château below the cliff. Paris is about two hours away by train or road, which is the point of running the European edition.
