Home › Retreats › Wellness Escape: 14-Day Yoga Retreat in Portugal's Serene Algarve Hills
Portugal · 14 days · From USD 3799
This retreat is essentially a two-week window into a yoga teacher training, but without any of the testing or required study. You get the same community, the same teachers, and the same daily menu of classes and workshops, and you're free to pick and choose. That makes it a good fit for people who want a real immersion in yoga practice and philosophy, but aren't looking to become certified instructors themselves.
A typical day starts early: group meditation, breathwork, and chanting at 7:00, followed by a 90-minute vinyasa flow. Breakfast is silent, meant as a chance to unplug before a mid-morning posture workshop (which the trainees attend, and you can join if you want). After lunch, afternoons are wide open—there's often an Ayurveda lecture or a meditation and philosophy discussion in the late afternoon, but you can skip them entirely. The schedule has a restfulness built in, and the pressure to perform is entirely off.
The teaching is led by Dr. Liz Lindh, who founded the school and has over 30 years of yoga study under her belt. She's a Doctor of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, and the program blends classical yoga philosophy with modern anatomy and integrative medicine. Retreat guests get an approach that's rigorous where it counts but with a lot of space to simply be. The result is a week that could be a serious deepening of your practice, a working holiday, or somewhere in between.
