Home › Retreats › Wellness Escape: 7-Day Yoga & Ayurveda Retreat in Calabria, Italy
Italy · 7 days · From USD 1592
The retreat takes place at Le Terre di Zoè, an organic farmhouse in southern Calabria run by Niramaya Yoga. The property is set among citrus groves, with gardens and a spring-water pool. It's a rural setting, quiet and surrounded by nature, with the beach at Nicotera Marina about a short drive away. The rooms are simple but comfortable, with air conditioning and private bathrooms.
Each day starts with a yoga practice, usually a mix of asana, pranayama, and meditation. The style is influenced by Hatha and Ashtanga yoga, taught by Subit, who is an internationally certified Ashtanga teacher, and Dorothea, who is a certified yoga therapist and physiotherapist. They focus on proper alignment and adapt the practice to what you need that day. Since the group is small, you'll get personal attention.
The afternoons are for exploring or relaxing. Three half-day excursions are included: visits to a historic village like Nicotera, coastal viewpoints, and maybe some beach time. There's also an Ayurveda cooking class where you learn to make simple, healthy dishes using local ingredients. The rest of the time, you can read by the pool, walk through the groves, or book an optional massage.
The retreat ends with a closing satsang and gratitude circle on the last evening, then a final breakfast before departure. The pace is unhurried, and the focus is on rest and reconnecting – not on pushing your limits. The hosts are welcoming and make sure you feel looked after from the moment you arrive with a welcome tea and orientation.
