Home › Retreats › Wellness Escape with Surf, Yoga, Crafts and Culture in Imsouane, Morocco
Morocco · 7 days · From USD 990
The retreat is based at Dar Mouja, an eco-friendly homestay built with sustainability in mind—natural resins, eco-paints, solar energy, and a plastic-free philosophy. The house has a panoramic terrace where morning yoga happens with sunrise views behind the mountains, and where guests gather for mint tea at sunset. The garden is sheltered from the north winds, perfect for evening barbecues and bonfires, often with live music.
Daily life is split between movement and leisure. Each asana practice is followed by a breathwork session using traditional pranayama techniques, designed to ground the energy from the physical practice. Yoga instructor Elettra leads Hatha Flow classes that are both accessible and deep, adapting to all levels and even tailoring sessions for injuries. Surf lessons are given by local instructors, with boards and wetsuits provided.
The retreat also includes a cooking class where you'll learn Simo's traditional Moroccan recipes, and a specialized art workshop to tap into your creative side. Group excursions and cultural activities are woven into the week, letting you explore the village and its surroundings. Since lunch isn't included, you're free to discover the local eateries and try whatever catches your eye.
The village of Imsouane is a world-famous longboard surf spot, but it remains an authentic fishing community. Locals move with the tides, and time is measured by meals, sunrises, and moon phases. This retreat is designed to help you drop into that rhythm, offering a genuine cultural experience rather than a typical tourist itinerary.
