Home › Retreats › Wellness Escape: Yoga, Meditation, and Red Rock Hiking in Sedona
United States · 7 days · From USD 1376
The theme for this year's retreat is 'Regulate your Nervous System.' Roy and Liz have been studying brain training, trauma healing, somatic awareness, and vagus nerve toning, and the retreat weaves these ideas into the daily practice. Each morning there's a yoga class and a meditation session, both held in the large living space of the retreat center, with its big windows and views of the red rocks. After lunch, the group heads out for a hike, usually with two pace options: a shorter, slower group and a longer, faster one. The hikes visit Sedona's famous vortex sites and sacred spots, with swimming opportunities along the way on certain days.\n\nRoy is a 500-hour certified ViniYoga teacher and a certified HeartMath Coach, and he's been running Holman Health Connections since 2000. He teaches with humor and joy, and he's the author of two books on healing and awakening. Liz is an energy, sound, and vibration healer, who works with chakra reading and biofeedback, and she often leads the healing sessions and does some of the cooking. Between them, they give the retreat a personal, homey feel—guests repeatedly mention how kind and accommodating they are.\n\nThe retreat center is comfortable and relaxed, with several room options, a hot tub outside with red rock views, and laundry facilities. Meals are mostly organic and catered to dietary needs, with breakfasts featuring a buffet of oatmeal, eggs, granola, fresh fruit, and more. Most lunches are grab-and-go fixings for hikes, and three dinners are home-cooked at the center. A few meals out are included in the schedule, and the hosts know the best local spots after two decades of visits.\n\nThis retreat suits a wide range of fitness levels—the hikes are not extremely long or strenuous, and you can always skip one or stay with the slower group. The group size (5–15) and the flexible schedule make it easy to meet people, and solo travelers are welcome, with roommates arranged if needed. It's a week that combines physical activity, rest, and a chance to unplug in one of the most beautiful landscapes in the American Southwest.
