Wellness Journey Through Rajasthan: Yoga, Meditation & Culture

India · 11 days · From USD 1984

The tour begins in Pushkar, a sacred town centered around a lake and the only Brahma temple in the world. Mornings here start with yoga and meditation, either at the Pushkar Fort resort or the ashram environment, before you head out to see the aarti ceremony and walk the ghats. A jeep safari through nearby villages offers a chance to see rural life, and evenings end with folk music and barbecue dinners.

Next, you'll drive to Kishangarh, known for its 16th-century miniature paintings. Your base is the Phool Mahal Palace-by-the-lake, a heritage property owned by the former Raja, with an alternative option at Chitvan Resort. You'll explore the town's cenotaphs and temples, visit the imposing Fort Kishangarh with its cannons and buggies, and take a full-day excursion to Kuchaman to see its fort and temples. Ayurvedic massages and wine with the hosts add a personal touch.

Jaipur, the Pink City, is the third stop. At the operator's own Hotel Mahal Khandela, you'll be welcomed with a gala rooftop dinner featuring folk dances and a puppet show. A full day covers the city's highlights: Amer Fort, Nahargarh, Jaigarh, the Palace of Winds, Albert Hall Museum, the City Palace, and the bustling bazaars. A dinner at the 150-year-old Castle Kalwar caps off the visit.

The final leg is Thanagazi in Alwar district, at the Gandharva Retreat, a 13-acre property run by an environmentalist known for tiger conservation. Here, the days are slow—yoga in the morning, a thrilling jeep safari into the Sariska Tiger Reserve, a visit to the ancient stepwell at Abhaneri, and plenty of time to relax in the large stone cottages. After two nights, you're driven back to Jaipur Airport for departure.

What makes this tour different is the personal attention. KV Singh and his family, with royal lineage, host you in their own properties or those of relatives. The non-hotel character of the accommodations means you're staying in homes and palaces, not generic resorts. Every aspect—from the driver to the meals to the excursions—is arranged with care, and the pace allows for both adventure and downtime.
