REO Rafting & Yoga Resort has been here since 1983, when founder Bryan Fogelman first ran the Nahatlatch River and decided to make it his home base. It started with a couple of rafts and has grown into a family-run wellness and adventure operation with staff from around the world. The yoga program is serious—you can join up to 16 sessions over your stay, all held on outdoor stages built above the rapids or closer to the shore. The instructors rotate in from different countries, so the teaching style can vary, but the setting is constant: a view of the jade-green river and the sound of rushing water underneath every pose.
The location is one of those places that feels a long way from anywhere. It's a three-hour drive from Vancouver, down a gravel road, past the town of Boston Bar, onto private river frontage. There's no town nearby—the nearest is 17 kilometers away—and the whole property runs partly on solar power. The 'glamping' tents are constructed from hand-peeled logs and canvas, each with a private deck facing the river. It's genuinely comfortable, with real beds and fresh linens, but there's no missing that you're out in the wilderness.
Food is a highlight. The chefs cook from a scenic dining deck, and meals include standard options—beef, chicken, fish—plus vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free choices. Lots of fresh and local vegetables, and locally harvested salmon when it's in season. The main activities beyond yoga are the guided canyon hike and whitewater rafting, but there's also paddleboarding, kayaking, and a scenic float you can add on. The daily schedule leaves plenty of unstructured time, which is exactly what most people come here for.
