West Coast Golf & Nature Stay at Emma's Villa & Stugor

Sweden · 1 days · From EUR 173

The setting is the Swedish west coast, near Strömstad and the Koster Islands. The property is right beside a golf course, with a footpath leading to Strömstad harbour and a self-service ferry into the city centre. The Koster Islands — Sweden's outermost islands and a car-free nature reserve — are a short ferry ride from Strömstad, and the owners position the place as a base before and after an island visit.

Accommodation splits into two options. The villa has six double rooms, each with an en-suite bathroom, plus a shared living room and kitchen. It sleeps up to 13 guests and is aimed at larger groups. The six cottages are self-contained, each with a fully equipped kitchen and bathroom, sleeping up to four people. Both options come with bed linen and towels; the cottages have a cleaning fee of 695 SEK per booking, the villa 2,780 SEK.

On-site, there's a large sun deck overlooking the golf course. Guests have written about the friendly landlady, Elina, who cooks — one review mentions a fish stew she made and shared the recipe for. The house is described as a beautiful old Swedish house with charm, clean rooms, and a large sitting room and lounge downstairs. Upstairs there are three small bedrooms and two larger ones in the B&B part, though the villa and cottages are the main accommodation offered here.

Golf is the main activity. You can add green fees and a golf cart when booking; the green fee price is adjusted to the golf club's current rates before the season. A golf round is around 700 SEK per person, and a golf cart is 500 SEK per round. Breakfast at the golf club's restaurant is available to all guests as an add-on.

Beyond golf, the Koster Islands offer hiking, cycling, snorkelling, sea swimming, birdwatching, restaurants and local crafts. The islands are car-free, and the ferry from Strömstad is an easy journey. The area around the property also has walking paths — one guest mentioned a footpath to Strömstad harbour near a big hotel, from where you can take a small self-service ferry to the city centre.

This is a self-catering, self-planned stay rather than a guided retreat. There's no daily schedule of classes or group activities. You get a comfortable base, access to golf, and easy reach of the Koster Islands. It suits people who want to build their own days — golf in the morning, a ferry trip in the afternoon, dinner cooked in the cottage kitchen or lunch at the golf club.
