Wilderness Yoga Retreats in Africa and Scotland: Small-Group Safari & Wellness Weeks

Kenya · 6 days · From EUR 10033

The set-date retreats all follow a similar rhythm: early morning yoga or a game drive (depending on the day's plan), breakfast, a long middle-of-the-day block for rest, spa treatments or a second class, then late-afternoon activity and dinner. In Kenya, the retreat is the Art of the Wild at Enasoit in Laikipia, co-led with photographer Mia Collis and Laura Bunting. The focus there is golden-hour game drives combined with guided image-making sessions, so you're shooting wildlife at the times of day when the light actually works. That one runs 24–30 October 2026, six nights, from US0,840 per person. As of the listing, one space had just opened up.

Botswana's retreat is Echoes of the Delta, 28 November – 2 December 2026, four nights from US$4,907 per person sharing, all-inclusive. Mornings are spent on mokoro (dugout canoe) channels at dawn, yoga happens on private island decks, and dinners are set up under the Kalahari sky. You can bolt on a ten-night safari through Camp Moremi and Savute for US$9,723 all-inclusive, finishing with a helicopter flight over the Delta.

Rwanda's Into the Mist runs 6–9 December 2026 at Volcanoes National Park, from US4,707 per person. That price includes gorilla trekking permits, accommodation, meals, drinks, transfers and daily yoga with Laura Bunting. The itinerary includes one hour with a mountain gorilla family, and you can add a second gorilla trek for US6,207. Lodges are on the forest edge. Only two rooms were left when the page was written.

Tanzania is next on the schedule, at Chem Chem between Tarangire and Lake Manyara, with 2027 dates going to the mailing list first. The page notes that past retreats have filled from the waitlist alone.

What separates this from a standard yoga holiday is the guiding. Groups are led by naturalists and trackers who've spent their careers in these ecosystems, not generalist tour leaders. And the camps themselves are places you'd book even without the yoga: private, quiet and well-run. The founder's own description is that these aren't escapes so much as a way back to yourself, though the practical difference is that you're sleeping in a tented camp in a private conservancy, not a hotel near a game park.
