Sri Lanka · 7 days · From USD 1995
This retreat is run by Liza Maria de Winter, a 600-hour certified yoga teacher and founder of Your Soul Treats, who has spent eight years hosting retreats in Bali. She's joined by Maylu, a 200-hour trained yoga teacher with a background in yin yoga, meditation, and Traditional Chinese Medicine elements like Qi-Gong and myofascial release. The retreat combines Ayurveda with accessible yoga, breathwork, and embodied movement, all aimed at releasing tension rather than pushing performance.
The week takes place at Center Your Soul Treats Sri Lanka, a private sanctuary along a river in Ahangama, Southern Province. The property has open views, tropical gardens, a pool, and a yoga shala, with rooms that are simple, light-filled, and comfortable. Because the group is capped at eleven women, the atmosphere stays personal—teachers know your name, adjust practices to how you're feeling, and keep the pace restful.
What makes this different from a standard yoga holiday is the Ayurvedic structure. You'll learn about the doshas—your own body type—and how to apply that knowledge to daily stress patterns. The retreat includes a workshop on practical stress-balancing tools, a sound healing session, and a closing bonfire ceremony. There's also an optional excursion day for exploring Sri Lanka's nature and wildlife.
Most guests come alone, and the small-group format makes it easy to connect. The days are structured enough to give a rhythm but leave long stretches for rest, whether that means swimming in the pool, reading on your terrace, or joining a sharing circle. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are all included, with vegetarian meals prepared fresh each day.
