Women's Wellness Yoga Retreat with Water Therapies in Rio de Janeiro

The retreat is hosted by Myriam, a Belgian yoga teacher who has spent nearly a decade teaching worldwide, assisting Shiva Rea and bringing Prana Vinyasa-style flow to her classes. She designed the week to blend physical practice with the healing power of water—a signature element here. You'll do water therapy sessions in the pool: WOGA (yoga in water) and Aguavida, a floating massage technique that feels like being cradled. These are paired with hypnosis meditation to work on limiting beliefs, and daily yoga that ranges from energizing morning flows to slow, restorative evening sessions.

What sets this retreat apart is the cultural immersion. February in Rio means Carnival energy is everywhere, and the retreat taps into that. You'll learn samba with a local teacher, join the Iemanjá celebrations on the beach, and take a guided hike in Copacabana. Myriam is deeply connected to the city and its Afro-Brazilian traditions, so you're not just a tourist—you're part of the rituals, the music, and the community.

The group is intentionally small, capped at around eight to ten women, many traveling solo. Evenings often end with sharing circles, tarot-inspired sessions, or simply talking over dinner. It's an intimate setting where friendships form quickly, and the villa in Santa Teresa—with its pool, terrace, and those Sugar Loaf views—feels like a home base rather than a hotel.
