Home › Retreats › Women's Pilates, Surf and Creativity Week in Zanzibar
Tanzania · 7 days · From EUR 1950
The week is built around four things: movement, creativity, wellness and island life. Pilates runs three times across the stay, and there are two beginner-friendly surf sessions in Zanzibar's warm water with equipment provided. The creative side is a bikini workshop where you customise your own, and a pottery workshop. Wellness comes in the form of a full-body massage and a sound healing session. On top of that there's a sunset boat experience and local island outings.
Days are structured but not packed. The schedule is described as a balance of planned experiences and free time, so you can join everything or skip what doesn't appeal. Mornings tend to start with breakfast at the villa, then an activity, then lunch, with afternoons open for the pool, the beach or a walk into the village. Check-in is from 16:00 and check-out is at 10:00.
What separates this from a standard beach holiday is the group. It's capped at six to eight women, all there for the same reason, and the host runs one of the creative workshops herself. Meals are shared — breakfast daily at the villa, lunches daily, and four dinners — which is where most of the group bonding happens. The villa itself is private, so the whole place belongs to the group for the week.
The location is Bwejuu, a quiet coastal village on the east coast known for its long white-sand beach and turquoise water. It's calmer than Zanzibar's busier northern areas but close to Paje and Jambiani, two of the east coast's best-known villages, if you want to explore. The villa sits among palm trees with the beach and ocean right in front and a private pool on the property.
Ms. Sarita is the Solset host for the trip. She has spent time in Zanzibar and knows the area, and she'll be with the group throughout — guiding the experience, sharing her favourite parts of the island and hosting one of the creative workshops. The operator, Solset, runs intimate women's escapes built around movement, creativity, wellness and connection, with small groups at the centre of every trip.
