Woodland Retreat Base in the Pocono Mountains, Pennsylvania

Spruce Lake covers over 900 acres of woodlands, trails and waterfalls in the Pocono Mountains. The stated purpose is drawing people closer to God and building relationships with others, and the site does that through youth camps, family events and the True North Adventure programme. Guests explore nature, and the camp frames this as refreshing body and soul and deepening faith in Christ.

There are three distinct areas. The Retreat Center is the venue for adult and family retreats and is home to Spruce Lodge, Founders Lodge, Lakeview Program Center and Nature Center. The Youth Campus hosts summer overnight camps and day camp, plus youth events throughout the year. Mountainside Lodges provide accommodation and meeting space for those who want a peaceful setting closer to the woods.

Groups are a major part of what happens here. Churches, organisations and other groups come each year for custom retreats, conferences and events, and the Group Services Team makes the arrangements. You request a quote and the team works out the details with you.

The site also runs its own calendar of events. Wood Cutting Day falls on 10 October 2026, the Fall Reception on 26 October 2026, the Men's Retreat at Spruce Lake runs 7 to 8 January 2027, and both CrossGen and IGNITE #1 run 8 to 10 January 2027.

The page does not publish a daily activity schedule, class timetable, instructor names or fitness programme, so anyone booking should expect to agree the programme with the Group Services Team or attend one of the listed events. What the page does confirm is the setting: 900-plus acres of woodland, trails and waterfalls to walk and explore.
