Home › Retreats › Yoga and Island Hiking Week Across Santorini and Crete
Santorini · 8 days · From USD 3749
Days start early with yoga, then a long Greek breakfast. On Santorini the first full day is a guided walk along the caldera rim to Oia, with the view down into the volcano and shops to browse at the end. The next day is free until the afternoon flow, and you can stay in town for dinner or come back for class. Before leaving for Crete the group stops at Santos Winery for a tasting with a panoramic view of the island, then catches the afternoon ferry.
On Crete the pace shifts. There's a cooking demonstration with fresh ingredients and an olive oil tasting, an afternoon guided tour of the 3,500-year-old Minoan palace at Knossos followed by free time in Heraklion, and a catamaran cruise along the coast with snorkelling gear, fruit and drinks on board. The last night is a farewell dinner.
Monika Kaufman is co-owner of Euphoria Retreats and teaches the yoga herself. The classes are described as a full spectrum, with alignment work and new postures alongside the flows, held in open-air studios looking out to sea in October weather.
The two hotels are the other half of the trip. Cresanto Luxury Suites on Santorini and Phāea Cretan Malia on Crete both have pools, fitness centres, saunas and hammams or Turkish steam baths, and guests have access to the spa and fitness facilities at both. Rooms have en-suite bathrooms, private balconies, bathrobes, slippers and pool towels, with daily maid service.
What separates this from a standard yoga week is the amount of ground covered: two islands, a guided archaeological visit, a winery, a cooking class and a boat day, all with a local English-speaking guide and transport in an air-conditioned vehicle throughout.
