Bordeaux · 6 days · From USD 500
The week is built around two anchors: a morning practice and an afternoon that alternates between more yoga and getting out into the region. Betty and Jamie teach a mix of vinyasa and restorative, relaxing flows, and the morning meditation is there to start the day quietly before breakfast. Most days there is a second class later on, so you can expect roughly two practices on those days.
The outings are the reason this isn't just a studio week in a different postcode. The group walks the medieval cobbled streets of nearby towns, visits castles, and goes on winery tours with local food and wine tastings — Bordeaux being Bordeaux. The walking is gentle, a couple of miles at most on any given day.
The Plum Village day is the one that stands apart from other yoga-and-wine weeks. Plum Village is the largest international practice centre and the first monastic community founded by Thich Nhat Hanh in the West. The group spends an afternoon there observing and taking part in mindfulness practice in the Zen Buddhist tradition.
Accommodation is at Château Bardouly, in the heart of the Bordeaux region. You can fly into Bordeaux directly, or fly into Paris and take the train down; the operators were still finalising flight and train suggestions at the time of listing. Transport once you arrive in Bordeaux is included, as are three meals a day.
Betty and Jamie lead the whole week themselves, teaching the classes and running the schedule. The page doesn't give their training background or how long they've been teaching, so ask before you book if that matters to you.
