Home › Retreats › Yoga & Hiking Retreat in Altea, Spain: Five Days of Sea Air, Olive Groves and Twice-Daily Practice
Alicante · 6 days · From EUR 1195
Each day follows a similar shape. You're up for yoga before breakfast, then out on a guided hike for a few hours through the hills, coast or old town surroundings. Lunch is at the finca, and the afternoon holds either a second yoga session or free time. Dinner is served on site. Group size is deliberately small so the instructors can adjust for whoever is in the room — some guests have a regular practice, others are on their first retreat.
What makes this one different from a standard yoga week is the walking. The hikes aren't a token stroll; they're a real part of the programme, covering the rugged terrain around Altea where the mountains meet the sea. The yoga is sequenced around them. If you want to skip an afternoon class and stay by the pool, that's fine — nothing here is compulsory.
Beyond the core programme there's plenty to fill the gaps. Guests can arrange biking or horse trekking, and there's a paella cooking workshop where you make lunch yourself. The coast is right there for swimming, and the old town is close enough to walk into for an evening.
The setting does a lot of the work. The farm sits among orange and olive groves, with sea views and mountain views depending on which way you turn. It's quiet, and it's warm — this part of Spain gets reliable spring and summer sunshine, which is why the retreat calendar runs through the warmer months.
Solo travellers are given their own rooms here rather than being paired up with a stranger. That's stated explicitly, and it's unusual enough at this price point to be worth mentioning. The group tends to be a mix of solo guests and a few friends or couples travelling together.
