Yoga & Meditation Holiday in the Slovenian Mountains

Yoga & Meditation Holiday in the Slovenian Mountains

Slovenia · 6 days · From EUR 920

The retreat runs from a Tuesday afternoon to a Sunday midday, based at a centre called Veduna in the mountains of Slovenia. Days start with a yoga class timed so you still get enough sleep — no 5am starts here. The morning session is usually energising vinyasa, followed by brunch. After a free block in the middle of the day, there's an afternoon session that tends to be slower — mindful slow flow, meditation or journaling with a philosophy teaching. Dinner is in the evening, and there's a second class or a sauna session on some days.

The teacher, Anya, builds in traditional 'mauna' practice — periods of community silence — alongside guided meditation, so there's real quiet to work with if you want it. She also offers an optional supported digital detox for the week. The style stays close to classical yoga and Vedānta philosophy rather than anything fitness-focused; the aim is to establish or deepen a home practice you can keep up after you leave.

The centre itself has 23 hectares of its own land, mostly forest and meadow, and a natural pool. Two sauna afternoons are included in the accommodation fee — the usual routine is sauna first, then a jump in the pool. Optional activities include fire rituals and guided forest walks. There's also plenty of unstructured time: reading, napping, sunbathing on the lawn, or just walking.

On the practical side, you'll need to get to Ljubljana first. There's an optional shared group taxi from Ljubljana city or airport on the first day, leaving around 12:00, and back again on the last day at roughly the same time. If you'd rather make your own way, you're asked to arrive at the centre between 13:30 and 14:30 on the start day and leave at 12:00 on the final day. Trains from Berlin take about 10 hours with one change in Munich; Graz is another option, about half an hour further by car, with a direct Eurowings flight and a direct night train from Berlin.

The group is kept small — places are limited and you're asked to email to check availability before paying. All meals, accommodation, tuition, two saunas and the 1:1 session are covered in the prices below. A tourist tax of €1.75 per night is payable on arrival.
