Yoga & Meditation Retreat in Corfu: Sea, Rest & Reconnection

Greece · 7 days · From USD 1400

The centre sits in Argyrades, in the south of Corfu, a one-minute walk from the beach. It's a converted family house — Athina's grandfather built it himself — and Athina and Cedric live there year-round rather than running it as a seasonal operation. That shows up in how the week feels: you eat with the people who teach you, the coffee comes from the in-house café, and there's no front desk or uniform in sight. The team on site includes yoga teachers Athina, Cedric, Sally and Ada, a chef (Eric), a massage therapist (Jenny), an on-site coordinator and a barista.

A typical day starts with meditation followed by an active morning class — usually Vinyasa Flow, suitable for beginners and experienced practitioners alike. Brunch is a buffet, then the middle of the day is yours: swim, read, walk to the beach, sleep. Late afternoon or early evening brings a slower session — Yin, restorative, Yoga Nidra or breathwork — before a dinner buffet. Once during the week there's a mantra circle and a sound bath, as well as a guided hike. A boat trip can be arranged for an extra charge.

The teaching draws on both traditional yoga and Tantra, with classes covering Vinyasa Flow, Yin Yoga, Tantra-inspired meditation, breathwork, mantra chanting and Yoga Nidra. Some workshops are included; a few have a small materials fee. Retreats run from April to October, so the water is warm for most of the season and the light in the south of the island is good for early morning practice.

What separates this from a larger Greek yoga resort is scale and setting. There's no sea-view shala — the centre is honest about that — but the beach is a minute away on foot, Issos Beach and its protected nature reserve are nearby, and the whole place is small enough that the teachers know your name by day two. Guests come from all over, most commonly aged 30 to 50-plus, and many arrive solo.

If you want somewhere to actually slow down — practice twice a day, eat well, swim, and not have to think much about logistics — this fits. If you want a party island, a packed excursion schedule or a high-intensity training camp, look elsewhere. The pace here is deliberately unhurried, and the days are built around rest as much as movement.
