The first Refugio took place over three days, 23 to 25 October 2026, at Artiem Asturias in Quintueles, Villaviciosa. It was put together by the hotel chain, which holds B Corp certification, and the platform Less&Conscious. Around four guest hosts led the programme, each taking a different subject rather than one person running everything.
María Abajo, a naturopath and aromatherapist who created Less&Conscious, opened the weekend with a workshop called 'Mapa Interno'. She taught tools for settling the nervous system: square breathing, self-massage and aromatherapy, framed around letting go at the pace of autumn.
Aida Artiles, a model and Jivamukti yoga instructor, led a practice built on alignment and releasing emotion. Her stated approach is that the discipline should lead to connection rather than acrobatic demands, so the class is about how the poses feel rather than how they look.
Chloé Sucrée, founder of Being Biotiful, took over the hotel kitchen with chef Rebeca Fernández. Together they designed a menu around local produce, colour and a relaxed relationship with food, which is the cooking side of the weekend rather than a demonstration.
Carlota Bruna closed the programme. A nutritionist and environmental activist, she was named by Forbes as Spain's best sustainability content creator. She led a walk facing the Cantábrico about responsible consumption, with the argument that personal health and the health of the planet are not separate questions.
The setting did a lot of the work. Artiem Asturias has large green areas, a spa and a kitchen built on local suppliers, and the schedule used them: talks on managing phone use, introduction rounds where guests could not reveal their profession, and time in the gardens. Everyone left with a welcome pack of natural cosmetics, herbal teas and supplements from brands including Ancient+Brave, Nattan, Pranarôm and Herbal Gem.
