Home › Retreats › Yoga, Pilates & Fitness Escape in Coastal Tunisia with Two Expert Instructors
Tunisia · 7 days · From EUR 1300
The accommodation is a large villa on a fully private estate — over seven hectares of gardens the group has to itself. The property has two swimming pools with views toward the Gulf of Hammamet, and it's home to a small menagerie: seven Shetland ponies, two horses, Egyptian ducks and 37 peacocks that roam the grounds. It's about 40 minutes by road from Enfidha–Mammaret airport, which keeps transfer times short. Rooms are doubles with fixed beds, sold either as shared double occupancy or as a single-occupancy room.
Mornings follow a set pattern. There's a guided meditation first, then an energetic yoga class with Cheryl, then breakfast. After that Sarah runs a fitness workout or a mat Pilates session focused on mobility, coordination and technique. She works with professional footballers, so expect close attention to form rather than a generic class. Lunch is vegetarian, followed by a long free block in the afternoon — pool, gardens, a nap, or a walk into the surrounding area. Evenings bring the quieter practices: Yin, Restorative yoga, Yoga Nidra, or a sound bath.
Cheryl is a senior yoga teacher with more than 500 hours of training. She teaches Vinyasa-style flows in the morning and Yin and Restorative work in the evening, and weaves in pranayama and Nidra. She also holds certifications in Pre/Post Natal Yoga and Kids Yoga, and teaches sound healing — which is why several evenings in the week are sound-led rather than posture-led. She's an anatomy-focused teacher and tends to explain what a pose is doing rather than just calling it out.
Sarah is the fitness half of the pair, a mat Pilates teacher and trainer who works with professional footballers. If you've done Pilates classes where the instructor watches the clock, this is the opposite — she corrects alignment and technique closely, and adjusts difficulty to whoever is in the room. Her background is in movement across both fitness and Pilates, so the sessions cover strength, mobility and coordination rather than one discipline only.
What separates this from a standard yoga week is the mix: two instructors with distinct specialisms running parallel programmes, on a private estate big enough that you're not sharing facilities with other guests, and a full-board kitchen. The day trip, the cacao ceremony and the animal-heavy grounds are all part of the package rather than paid extras. It's also worth noting the group is small enough that both instructors know everyone's level by day two, which is why the schedule can flex.
