Yoga & Spa Wellness Retreat on Amorgos Island, Greece

The retreat takes place at the Aegialis Hotel & Spa, a five-star property that’s been hosting yoga groups since 2014. It’s perched above the sea, with four yoga shalas and a rooftop terrace that looks out over the water. Mornings typically start with pranayama and a vinyasa class, followed by a buffet breakfast. Afternoons are free for spa treatments, pool time, or island exploration, with optional workshops and hikes built into the schedule. Evenings wind down with yin or restorative yoga before dinner, either at the hotel or in the nearby village of Chora.

The lead teacher, Dr. Yulia, brings over 20 years of personal practice and a teaching style that blends hatha and ashtanga foundations. Her classes are known for being alignment-focused and powerful, but she keeps the energy welcoming for all levels. The retreat is capped at 15 participants, so you’ll get personal attention and a real sense of community. You’ll find a mix of solo travelers, couples, and friends, and it’s a group that tends to bond over shared dinners and group excursions.

Amorgos itself is a quieter Greek island, known for its dramatic cliffs, clear water, and the monastery of Panagia Hozoviotissa carved into the rock. It’s not a party island—this is a place for long walks, village coffee stops, and unhurried sunsets. The hotel is about a 15-minute walk or short drive from the main port of Aegiali, and the island’s hiking trails start right from the resort.
