Yoga Teacher Training and Wellness Immersion on the Oaxaca Coast, Mexico

Mexico · 8 days · From USD 4314

The Complete Teacher is a 200-hour yoga teacher training that blends modern science with traditional yoga wisdom. The hybrid format lets you complete the theory part of the course from home, through recorded lessons, assignments, and live online weekends. This means that when you arrive in Oaxaca, you're not spending all day in a classroom; instead, you're practicing, refining your teaching skills, and getting personal feedback from instructors.

The in-person immersion takes place in a luxury villa hidden between Zipolite and Puerto Ángel. It's a quiet spot surrounded by trees, with direct views of the Pacific Ocean. The villa has a private pool, an open-air yoga shala, and a garden. Mornings start with meditation and yoga, followed by a big breakfast. Then the day moves into lectures on topics like yogic philosophy, anatomy, and nervous system regulation. Afternoons are dedicated to asana labs, where you break down postures and learn how to teach them effectively. Evenings bring dinner and satsang, a group practice or discussion.

What makes this training different is its focus on understanding people rather than just memorizing sequences. You'll learn how bodies actually move, how emotions affect the nervous system, and how to create classes that are safe and inclusive. The course includes trauma-informed teaching, inclusive language, and functional movement principles. It's a serious course, but it doesn't take itself too seriously. The tone is authentic and supportive, with laughter and real conversations as much a part of the day as the asanas.

The lead teacher, Colynn Cespedes, is a 500 E-RYT with certifications in 200-hour and 300-hour YTT, as well as specialized training in meditation, Reiki, and Rainbow Kids Yoga. She describes herself as a space holder rather than a healer, and her approach is queer-friendly, age-friendly, and body-friendly. She's joined by Fairy, a somatic yoga teacher who focuses on trauma-informed, nervous system–centric instruction. Together, they create an environment where you can learn to teach with confidence and authenticity.
