Home › Retreats › Yoga Teacher Training in Tenerife: 200-Hour Hatha & Vinyasa Immersion
Canary Islands · 19 days · From USD 1630
The course is a full Yoga Alliance RYS 200 program split into 100 hours of techniques and practice, 25 hours of teaching methodology, 20 hours of anatomy and physiology, 30 hours of philosophy and ethics, and 25 hours of practicum. Mornings start before breakfast with meditation, pranayama, and a Hatha class; afternoons alternate between alignment workshops and theory; evenings close with a Vinyasa session. You'll study the Bhagavad Gita, the Yoga Sutras, Ayurveda basics, chakras and nadis, plus practical stuff like how to sequence a class and adjust a student safely.
What sets Gayatri apart is the attitude toward physical limitations. You don't need to be bendy or strong to join. If you can't do an asana, you learn by assisting, demonstrating, or modeling for other students, and the teachers stress that accepting your own limits makes you a better teacher for people with limitations later. The teaching team brings different backgrounds—Radhika leads the theory and pranayama with her E-RYT 500 credential, while guest teachers like Aarti, Agata, Federica, and Maya cover alignment, prenatal yoga, slow vinyasa, and even acro yoga. You'll likely be taught by four or more of them across the three weeks.
The location is a residential area of Tenerife, about 30 minutes from the ocean by bus and close to the historic towns of San Cristóbal de La Laguna and Santa Cruz. The school and the nearby guesthouse are simple and functional rather than fancy—think clean rooms, a decent kitchen, a pool, and a yoga shala. Students consistently mention the community feeling, the hands-on teaching practice, and how well-organized Radhika keeps things, from the pre-course phone call to the daily schedule. One recent graduate called it "a true five-star experience," and reviews over a decade of courses average 4.93 out of 5.
