Yoga Therapy & Ayurveda Wellness Retreat in Coastal Goa

Yoga Therapy & Ayurveda Wellness Retreat in Coastal Goa

India · 6 days · From USD 319

The schedule is structured but unhurried. You wake at 6:30 for cleansing rituals, then move into an hour of pranayama and an hour of yoga asana before a slow breakfast. Mid-morning rotates between yoga philosophy sessions, Ayurveda lectures, and Ayurvedic massage appointments — so not everyone is doing the same thing at the same time. Lunch is at 1:45, followed by a long break for reading, journaling, or napping. Late afternoon brings a meditation session, and evenings vary between tratak (candle-gazing meditation), yoga nidra, and an Indian cooking class. Dinner is at 8 pm, and the day winds down by 10.

The yoga here is therapeutic Hatha, adapted to where your body is rather than pushing you through a set sequence. The lead instructor, Ayushi, is RYT 500 certified with 12 years of experience — she trained in Rishikesh and specialises in Hatha, Vinyasa, and Ashtanga, though this retreat leans toward the gentler end of that range. Philosophy sessions are led by Shrikant, who draws on Yoga and Vedanta traditions and frames the material as inquiry rather than dogma.

The Ayurveda component is hands-on. You get a one-on-one consultation where the practitioner looks at your daily habits, sleep, digestion, and so on, then suggests routines and self-care practices you can continue after you leave. The oil massages use warm herbal oils and traditional techniques — these aren't spa massages but therapeutic sessions meant to support the rest of the retreat work.

Mandrem itself is a quiet beach village, less developed than Arambol or Anjuna. The retreat includes an excursion — temple visits, nature walks, or time on the beach — built into the six-day schedule. The atmosphere is calm and personal: you eat meals together, there's no pressure to socialise if you'd rather not, and the small group size means you can ask questions and get individual feedback.

Food is vegan, prepared fresh on-site with seasonal vegetables, grains, legumes, and traditional Indian flavours. The retreat encourages mindful eating — meals are served in a calm space without rushing. Water and tea are available throughout the day.
