BookYogaRetreats & Tripaneer bankruptcy: what guests and retreat hosts can do

Checked against the court record on 25 October 2026

The official record

What happened

Tripaneer B.V. is the Amsterdam company behind BookYogaRetreats and several sister booking sites. It was granted a provisional suspension of payments on 28 September 2026, and on 30 September 2026 the District Court of Amsterdam declared it bankrupt. A trustee (in Dutch, a curator) now manages the company's affairs, decides what happens to the business, and handles creditors' claims.

If you paid a deposit or a booking through one of those sites, you are a creditor of Tripaneer B.V. for anything you have not received.

Booked a retreat through BookYogaRetreats or a sister site?

  1. Contact your retreat organiser directly. Ask whether they received your payment and whether they will honour the booking. Many organisers are working with guests to keep trips going.
  2. Ask your card issuer about a chargeback if you paid by credit or debit card, and do it soon: banks apply time limits from the payment date. In the UK, Section 75 may cover credit card payments between £100 and £30,000. If you paid by PayPal, open a dispute in your PayPal account.
  3. File a claim with the trustee. It is free, online, through the trustee's claims portal for case F.13/26/306: ClaimsAgent case page. Attach your booking confirmation, proof of payment and any emails.
  4. Keep everything: confirmations, receipts, bank statements and messages with the organiser and the booking site.
  5. Don't pay new deposits through the affected sites while the bankruptcy is running.

Ordinary creditors in a Dutch bankruptcy are paid last, if at all, so a chargeback or an arrangement with the organiser is usually the faster route. A claim with the trustee keeps your place in the queue either way.

Run a retreat that was listed on those sites?

Money a guest paid to the platform that was not passed on to you is a claim against Tripaneer B.V.: file it through the same claims portal. Talk to your affected guests directly: many will still travel if they know where they stand.

If you need a new place to take bookings, Book Fitness Retreats lists fitness, wellness and yoga retreats for free: you only pay commission when we deliver a paying guest, and guests pay a deposit that secures their place.

Looking for a replacement retreat?

Tell us what you had booked (the place, the dates and the kind of retreat) and we'll find you options with real availability, often with the same organiser if they list with us. Every booking with us is secured with a small deposit, and you see the full price and the payment plan before you pay.

We are not connected to Tripaneer

Book Fitness Retreats is independent. Despite the similar names, we have no connection with Tripaneer B.V. or any of its sites, and bookings made with us are not affected. We are a specialist fitness and wellness retreat marketplace, run by the team behind Ultimate Fitness Holidays, who have been putting people on fitness holidays for eighteen years.
