This 21-day Ayurvedic wellness and detox retreat is for you if you want to step away from daily life and give your body and mind proper time to reset. You do not need any prior experience with yoga or Ayurveda. Beginners and experienced practitioners are equally welcome, as yoga teacher Raviji tailors sessions to all levels and the Ayurvedic doctors design your treatment plan around your individual health status. The retreat suits anyone looking for a rounded approach that addresses both physical ailments and emotional imbalances.
At the heart of your stay is Panchakarma, Ayurveda's primary purification and detoxification therapy. Following your initial medical consultation, the doctors build a personalised plan for you, beginning with medicine intake, initial therapies and medicated oil massage (Abhyanga) before therapeutic procedures start on day four. Alongside your treatments, you practise daily yoga asanas, pranayama and meditation, with evening philosophy talks, yoga nidra, breathing exercises and spiritual discourse to deepen your understanding. Your team is led by the renowned Noorani family of Ayurvedic doctors, part of a legacy spanning 70 years that uniquely combines body and mind healing.
You stay at Ayurveda Healing Ashram, a boutique wellness sanctuary nestled on a cliff overlooking the Arabian Sea in Pachalloor, Vandithadam, near Thiruvananthapuram (Trivandrum) in Kerala. The grounds are surrounded by lush gardens, coconut palms and vibrant flowers, creating a peaceful, tranquil atmosphere. Your private room sits within the main ashram building, with a spacious private washroom, simple yet tasteful furnishings, a comfortable bed and large windows that let in natural light and fresh air. You can choose a non-air-conditioned room for a cool, breezy feel or an air-conditioned room for additional comfort and temperature control.
A typical day begins at 06:30 with herbal tea, followed by yoga with Raviji, pranayama and meditation before breakfast. Your late morning is given to individual Panchakarma treatments, and the afternoon brings rest, an evening snack, consultations or optional workshops, then sunset meditation or a philosophy talk. Across the three weeks you have opportunities for a cooking class, an Ayurvedic lecture, a herb garden tour, mantra chanting and group discussions, with a rest day on day six. Meals are three daily Ayurvedic, organic dishes prepared by chef Rekhu using fresh ingredients from the ashram's own gardens. The cuisine is traditional Indian, primarily vegetarian and often vegan-friendly, and the kitchen can cater to dairy-free, gluten-free, low-fat, raw and sugar-conscious diets. Meals are served communally, so friendships form naturally over shared tables.
Your package includes 20 nights' accommodation, airport pickup from Trivandrum International Airport, three meals a day, daily yoga, pranayama and meditation classes, daily consultations with Ayurvedic doctors, Panchakarma treatments as per your personalised plan, herbal medicines and oils as prescribed, evening philosophy talks, WiFi, and access to the gardens and common areas.
