The core of the weekend is two ceremonies with the Dutch brew. This is Acsauhaya's legal alternative to traditional ayahuasca: caapi vine taken together with psilocybin truffles, both legal in the Netherlands. The space is held by a team of three facilitators. Recent participants rated the depth of their experience 9 out of 10 on average in the organisation's own follow-up surveys.
Preparation starts before you travel. There is a self-paced online course covering mindset, intention and safety, a live group preparation call, and optional weekly meditation. You can join late, even a few days before the retreat. Everyone also goes through a screening process before being accepted, and the team describes its facilitation as trauma-aware.
On site, the time around the ceremonies is deliberately quiet. Expect optional meditation, yoga or mindful movement, breathwork, nature walks and integration circles where the group talks through what came up. Guests have also mentioned sound-healing sessions. Meals are plant-based, and reviewers say special requests are handled. Shared or private rooms are available, subject to availability.
What sets this apart from a typical ceremony weekend is the follow-up. Three weekly live integration calls continue after the retreat, alongside drop-in meditation circles, access to a private online platform, and one-to-one support from facilitators if you need it. Acsauhaya has also worked with researchers from Leiden University, the University of Exeter and Imperial College London's Centre for Psychedelic Research.
The facilitators come from a mix of backgrounds. Robert Bogaarts has led ceremonies for seven years. Johannes Binder is a certified breathwork instructor and coach. Magda Haver trained with the Synthesis Institute. Maria Amato is a neuroscientist and yoga teacher. Shurandy De Jong has nearly a decade of ceremony work in an Amazonian lineage. German-language retreats also run.
