Days are built around two blocks. The first runs 10:30 to 13:30 and covers morning energy work and a midday trauma-release workshop. The second runs 16:30 to 19:00 and is given over to breathwork journeys. The morning movement and breathwork sessions are optional — the schedule says so explicitly, so you can stay in bed if the previous day's release has left you needing integration time. Check-in on arrival day is from 13:00, and the first somatic de-armoring session starts at 18:00, followed by dinner.

What separates this from a standard yoga week is the lineage. Yogi Kiran teaches from the Zhang Zhung Nyen Gyu tradition and works with Bon Yoga, Trul Khor, Tsa Lung, Vajrayana practices and advanced Kriya Yoga rather than a generic vinyasa sequence. The breathwork is framed as physiological rather than symbolic — the retreat's own description talks about bypassing talk therapy to work on the nervous system directly. Sessions run with stated consent and boundary protocols, and the whole site is alcohol- and drug-free.

Yogi Kiran has 28 years of practice and previously worked as Director of HR and Administrative Services in a Government of India core department. He has written "Life Beyond Mundane Spirituality" and is working on a second book, "Debunking Spiritual Myths". He is joined by Aacharyā Padma Mandapaka (listed as Mrs. Rajya), a Hyderabad-based yoga teacher with more than 30 years of practice in the Patanjali tradition, who has run yoga wellness programmes in the city for three decades.

The venue is Vanprastha Resorts at Village Ratkhal, near Dunagiri in Almora district, Uttarakhand. It has two guest blocks: a Vedic Block with four luxury cottages named after the four Vedas, and an Ashtanga Yoga Block with eight deluxe suites named after the eight limbs of yoga. Everything — living rooms, meditation hall, dining hall — is built in pine. The resort is 1.5 km from Mahavatar Babaji's Cave and provides a guide and trekking route there.

Food is full board: breakfast, lunch and dinner, all vegetarian and described as farm-to-table and organic, plus evening tea and snacks and water, tea, coffee and juices through the day. Diabetic-friendly and vegan diets are catered for. There is a spa, garden, terrace, laundry, heating and a yoga shala on site. Airport transfers are not included — Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (HYD) is about 50 km and an hour away, and app-based cabs or the pre-paid taxi counter cost roughly ₹1,000–1,200.
