Annapurna Base Camp Trek via Poon Hill – 12 Days

Nepal

This trek climbs into the Annapurna Sanctuary, a ring of high peaks around Annapurna Base Camp at 4,130m. You start with a short flight from Kathmandu to Pokhara and a drive to Naya Pul. From there you walk up through terraced fields, rhododendron forest and hill villages towards the mountains.

The first part of the route takes in Ghorepani and an early-morning hike up Poon Hill (3,210m), one of Nepal's best-known sunrise viewpoints. You continue through Tadapani and Chomrong, then follow the Modi Khola valley up past Himalaya to Machhapuchhre Base Camp (3,700m).

On Day 8 you reach Annapurna Base Camp itself, surrounded by snow peaks, before turning back down the valley. The return goes via Sinuwa and Jhinu Danda to Syauli Bazaar, then by road to Pokhara and a flight to Kathmandu.
