Spend an autumn week in Arctic Norway hiking by day and watching for the northern lights by night, based at Lyngen Outdoor Center on Uløya. The island sits at the northern end of the Lyngen Alps. The centre is in Uløybukt, beside the ferry port, and is reached by the only road on that side of the island.

Days are spent on the mountains, fjords and coast around Uløya with Lyngen Outdoor's local team. In the evenings you can sit by the fire in the dining room on the pier and watch the fjord, or the polar lights, through its panoramic glass wall.

You stay in the centre's lodges, 50 m from the water, with a traditional Norwegian fireplace, a sauna, a fully equipped kitchen and free Wi-Fi. Meals are home cooking from fresh local ingredients, such as salmon tartar, grilled fish and reindeer or moose stew. The programme is open to individual guests.
