Day one sets the pattern. You tour a centuries-old local market, lunch on the terrace at Château de Gilly — the former residence of 14th-century monks — then taste at Côte de Nuits and walk Clos de Vougeot, a 12th-century chateau sitting inside the country's largest walled vineyard. Day two is the most active: e-bikes between rows of grapevines, tastings at hand-picked châteaux, a countryside picnic, then the 15th-century cellars and Gothic hospital-museum at Hospices de Beaune, finishing with a private tour and dinner at Château de la Crée.
Day three heads south from Beaune to a local cheese farm, then Roche de Solutre and Pouilly-Fuisse, the region known for ripe, powerful whites, with a tasting led by two local vintners. Day four is the truffle day: a walk into hazel, hornbeam and black pine forest with truffle-hunting dogs, a fungi-themed lunch, then six emblematic Burgundy wines at Maison Jadot with a private visit to their barrel cellars, the oldest in Beaune.
Days five and six open with a sunrise hot-air balloon ride over country homes and châteaux, then move to Dijon for mustard tastings, cathedrals and gardens, and a Dijonaise lunch. The trip closes with dinner back in Beaune at the 1243 Bourgogne Society, cooked by a Michelin-star chef. Day seven is a train to Paris, where the operator arranges private access — Versailles tours, cooking courses at the Ateliers des Chefs, visits to craftsmen's workshops and artists' galleries.
What separates this from a standard wine tour is the access: a private dinner inside one of the world's most exclusive wine clubs, a private tour of Maison Jadot's ancient cellars, and the truffle hunt with working dogs. The operator also handles the Paris leg rather than dropping you at the station.
