Hyrox Race-Prep Fitness Week in Coral Bay, Cyprus

Cyprus · 7 days · From GBP 1190

A typical day starts with breakfast at the villa, then the main training block at the Hyrox Training Club. Sessions rotate through the parts of the race: heavy sled pushes and pulls, SkiErg and rowing intervals, wall balls, sandbag lunges, farmers carries and burpee broad jumps, with running built in throughout. Some days lean toward strength, others toward compromised running, which is the skill of holding pace on a 1 km run straight after a station. Coaches watch your technique and correct it as you go, which is hard to get in a busy commercial gym back home.

Afternoons are lighter. There are running and conditioning sessions focused on efficiency and pacing, and mobility and recovery work to keep you moving well enough to train again the next day. The rest of the time is free. Coral Bay's sandy beach is a short walk from the villa, and the sea in late September is still warm enough for a proper swim.

What separates this camp from a general fitness holiday is how narrow it is. Everything is built around one race format, the equipment matches what you'll meet on race day, and the week finishes with a full race simulation. You go home with a real benchmark time, a clear idea of where you lose minutes, and a plan for fixing it.

The coaching team is a big part of it. Fabian Raschke has been an Official HYROX Coach since 2019, which makes him one of the first. He has raced more than 20 Hyrox events and has coached podium finishers and world champions. Viktorija is a certified functional trainer and a former HYROX Elite 15 competitor, so she has raced at the top level. Her focus is functional strength, injury prevention and race strategy.

The setting helps. Coral Bay is a small resort area near Peyia on the Paphos coast, with a sheltered sandy bay, clifftop walks and Akamas peninsula hiking within easy reach. The group hike gets you out into that landscape. On the meze night you eat course after course of small Cypriot dishes, which is a good reward after a week of sled pushes.

The camp suits people who want an active holiday with structure, other people who are into the same sport, and coaches who know the race inside out. You don't need to be fast. You do need to be happy training most days of the week.
