Krabi Valley Yoga Retreat: Seven Nights of Vinyasa, Yin and Jungle Quiet

Thailand · 8 days · From GBP 1100 (indicative)

The practice is broad rather than one style repeated. Over the seven nights you work through various styles of vinyasa, alongside slower practices, yin, and workshops. Two workshops are listed as surprises and will be revealed nearer the time. Morning sessions pair meditation with pranayama and a dynamic vinyasa flow; the evening session is yin, with some days running a second bedtime yin at 9pm.

The venue is secluded in nature, set among the limestone cliffs Krabi is known for. It is not a beachfront resort — the appeal is the quiet and the greenery, with the beaches, islands, markets and temples of the region a trip away rather than on the doorstep. The organiser describes the surrounding area as offering quiet beaches, clear water for swimming, tropical landscapes, local markets and temples, and elephant sanctuaries. Day trips are optional and marked with an asterisk on the schedule once it is published.

Food is made in-house from seasonal fresh ingredients. Brunch after practice is described as massive, dinner is at the venue, and coffee, teas, fruit and daily snacks are available through the day. Lunch is included on the example day but appears in the not-included list for food bought outside the villa during free time, so check the final schedule for exactly which meals are covered.

What separates this from a standard Thai yoga week is the facilities on the grounds: a pool, loungers, sauna, ice baths, jacuzzi, and indoor and outdoor gyms, all for the group's exclusive use. That means you can do a cold plunge after yin, lift in the gym in your free afternoon, or sit in the sauna instead of taking a trip out.

The organiser asks that people joining take part in the scheduled shala time rather than picking and choosing, on the basis that the group's energy carries the week. There is free time built in each day for your own exploring.
