Spa and Sea Views at a Coastal Hotel in Båstad, Sweden

Båstad · 1 days · From EUR 500

Days here tend to follow the same shape: breakfast at Restaurant Sand, time in the spa, lunch, then the sea or the town. The spa's three areas let you move between heat and cold. Start in the winter garden with its saunas and pools, take the lift to the rooftop for heated outdoor pools with views over the Kattegat, then walk the pier out to the cold sea bath. Massages and treatments can be booked on top of that.

Båstad itself is on the doorstep — the hotel is directly by the beach and harbour, and Båstad Torget is about 150 metres away. The town is known for tennis: Ludwig Nobel, nephew of Alfred Nobel, built a court on the site of today's centre court in 1907, and King Gustav V was a regular visitor and player. The Tennis Pavilion is one of the hotel's four accommodation buildings.

Food is a big part of the stay. Restaurant Sand uses seasonal ingredients from the Bjäre Peninsula, and in summer the terrace opens towards the front of the hotel and the buzz of Båstad. Mr G, the cocktail bar, has won awards for its drinks and is styled like a Parisian bistro. The hotel is Nordic Swan Eco labelled and says it sources locally, minimises food waste and uses energy-efficient installations.

What this page does not include is a timetable of classes, training sessions or a led programme. There is a fitness offering mentioned in the context of conferences and events, but no schedule, instructor or session details are given. If you want a structured training week, this is not that — it is a coastal spa hotel where you set your own pace.

Getting there without a car is straightforward: train to Båstad Station, then Skånetrafiken regional bus 501/502 to Båstad Torget. Ängelholm is the nearest domestic airport, about 20 minutes by taxi or car, and Copenhagen Kastrup is the nearest international one, with hourly trains to Båstad.
