County Cork · 3 days
The break runs across two nights, arriving on Thursday 25 February 2027 and leaving on Saturday 27 February. Yoga and guided meditation take place in the Grainstore, with equipment supplied, so you don't need to bring a mat. The sessions are the anchor of the programme; the rest of the timetable is built around meals and free time rather than stacked with activities.
Food is a big part of why people book Ballymaloe. Breakfast is homemade each morning, lunch on both days is vegetarian, Thursday dinner is three courses and Friday dinner is five. The house cooks from a long-established kitchen with its own produce, and the dining room is one of the reasons guests return.
The optional sunrise sea swim is exactly that — optional, at a nearby beach, before the day properly starts. If cold water isn't your thing, skip it and take a slower breakfast.
Accommodation is in a Classic guestroom. The house lists several room grades, from Classic through Heritage and Superior up to the Litchfield and Ivy suites, so there is room to upgrade if you want more space. The atmosphere is quiet and old-fashioned in the best sense: no thumping music, no pool bar, just a country house with fires lit in February.
What separates this from a generic hotel yoga weekend is the combination of a named teacher, a dedicated practice space in the Grainstore, and a kitchen with a national reputation. You are not doing yoga in a conference room between coach parties.
