The retreat begins with a Wellbeing Assessment, a conversation that sets what your week looks like — which treatments, which classes, how much time in the spa versus out among the vines. Wellbeing Amenities in the villa, from herbal teas to aromatic bath salts, carry the same idea into your room.
Spa sessions are the anchor. Aromatherapy and Hydrotherapy are the signature treatments, using scent, touch and water, with Banyan Tree Essentials botanical products. The Veya Temazcal Journey is the one thing here you will not find at most wellness hotels: a Temazcalero leads you into a dome heated by volcanic stones and infused with aromatic herbs, with deep breathing, drumming, chanting and copal resin, closing with a round of gratitude. It comes from the Nahuatl word Temāzcalli, meaning house of heat.
Movement is available but not compulsory. The Vitality Studio has a compact but fully equipped gym. Yoga and wellbeing sessions run in the indoor Movement Studio, and the Yoga Deck is used for sunrise practice with the valley in front of you. The labyrinth is there for meditation and sound healing.
Food follows the same balance. Veya Cuisine cooks with Baja California's seasonal produce, herbs and wines, leaning plant-forward with clean ingredients, served on open-air terraces overlooking the vineyards or in quieter indoor rooms.
What separates this from a standard spa hotel is the setting and the range of spaces. You can spend a morning in the Temazcal, an afternoon walking the Ethnobotanical Garden, and an evening on your private terrace with a glass of something local. The villas have floor-to-ceiling windows, earth tones, private terraces and soaking tubs, plus a Pillow Menu so you can pick your pillow before the first night.
