Turkey · 8 days · From USD 1400
The core of the week is boat time. On the top package you get 150 minutes behind the boat, split into five 30-minute coached sessions with Stanislav. Each session covers dryland drills on shore, riding on the water, and then a video review back at the villa where your footage is played back and the fixes are explained. If you want more time on the water, extra hours can be bought during the week. The camp says its rates are the lowest in Turkey.
What sets this camp apart from a typical wake park or a busy boat school is the water. Only the camp's two boats run on that stretch, so there are no crossing wakes and the surface stays flat between sets. The boats are new Nautique and Centurion tow boats, both built for wakesurfing, so the wave is a proper surf wave and not a ski wake.
Stanislav Korolkov leads the coaching. He is a four-time Russian Champion, won the World Championship in 2019 and the European Championship (WWA) in 2021, and has won World Championship stages in France, Italy, Russia, Ukraine and Switzerland. In the 2024 season he took six gold medals and confirmed his Master of Sport title. He rides for the soulcraftboard international team and for Centurion Russia, and he founded the independent wakesurf association PWA. The camp describes him as an approachable coach who teaches complete beginners as readily as competitive riders.
The house is a big part of the experience. Guests share a large villa with a pool, two people to a room, each room with its own shower room. There is a common living room with a dining table and a kitchen. Mornings start with breakfast together, and evenings are often spent at home playing board games or out in Bodrum's bars.
Bodrum is a good base for days off the water. It is known for its food, prices are low, and the team takes the group to the restaurants and bars they like in town and nearby. You can also see the ancient amphitheatre, the ruins of old cities, the bazaars and Turkish sweets, the hilltop windmills and the old harbour towns on the peninsula.
The weather is mild for spring sessions. The camp quotes air temperatures around +25°C, and the water is listed at around +20°C in one place and +25°C in April and November in another, so check with the team before you pack. Either way it's warm enough to ride without heavy neoprene.
